Bayswater District in the Victorian Legislative Assembly was formed prior to the 1992 election following the redistribution of the Knox electorate. It has been represented by Heidi since the November 2006 election.

In 2014, the Victorian Electoral Commission finalised a statewide redistribution which involved the changing of boundaries for Bayswater District.
Bayswater District is a metropolitan electorate approximately 23 kilometres east of Melbourne, spanning about 40 square kilometres. The electorate takes in the suburbs of Bayswater, Bayswater North, Boronia, Heathmont, Kilsyth South, part of Wantirna, and The Basin. The district, while an outer metropolitan residential base, is also home to a number of large manufacturing plants and smaller factories. The eastern boundary abuts the Dandenong Ranges.

Things Heidi Loves About Bayswater

I love the fact that we have quick access to the Dandenongs, yet we are not far from the CBD. We have a fantastic sense of community, which includes brilliant programs for sports and arts fans of all ages.

Bayswater Park (sometimes called Train Park), is a fantastic place for kids to play — I take my daughter there all the time, and we love walking and riding along the Dandenong Creek trail.

There are also plenty of great sporting grounds and public open spaces which can be enjoyed by families or residents from HE Parker Reserve in Heathmont and Miller Park in The Basin to Tormore Reserve in Boronia and Glen park in Bayswater North.

The convenience of shopping in our area is another “plus” and is perfect for those hunting for a bargain and getting great service — and there are so many options! From Knox City and Eastland, to Heathmont, Bayswater, Boronia, Alchester Village and all the other strip shopping areas where the customer is paramount.

Bayswater is a great example of how multiculturalism works — so many of us have such different backgrounds, but we all get along and live in harmony. From German play groups for toddlers to Hungarian, Greek and Italian senior citizen organisations — there’s something for everyone! We also have some really incredible schools, and our children are in excellent hands — I have complete faith in the leaders of tomorrow that are being groomed right here in the Bayswater area.
